Having an MOT done can be a nerve wrecking time as you often do not know if the car will pass or fail and how much it will cost to repair it if it does fail. Knowing which garage to trust to do your MOT is hard work but finding one can make the whole process a lot easier.

Although all garages are supposed to carry out MOT tests by the same standards, unfortunately this does not always happen. So garages will purposely fail a car so they can make money on the repairs. This may be hard to prove if you did decide to escalate the MOT failure, so finding a garage that will be honest is vital.

I recently had a look for a new MOT garage after finding out the previous one I used seemed to find a lot wrong with the car. After some research I found that there are places that you can take your car where they only test them and do not offer repairs. There are some MOT only test stations and also council ran MOT centres (where council vehicles get tested). As they do not offer repairs there is no advantage to them failing your car so are more likely to give you an honest MOT.
