If you are lucky enough to have a car fitted with air conditioning then you may have started to use it over the last few days, following the spell of warm weather we have been having. When you turn your air con on in your vehicle it usually takes a few seconds and then you can start to feel it getting cool. Some cars have a setting which allows you to set the temperature of the air con and others just have an on off button.
If you have noticed that your air con is not as cold as it used to be or is simply blowing out warm air then the chances are you have a cult. There can be a number of reasons why the air con unit stops working but some of the common ones are listed below.
- There is no gas left in the system. The air con unit needs gas to be able to cool the air. Over time this will diminish and you may need it to be topped up. This is a relatively cheap fix but a garage that has the correct equipment.
- The other common fault with air con systems is that they have a leak. There are many places in which the leak can come from and often this is picked up by the garage putting a dye in to the system to see where it is leaking from. Depending on where the leak is will alter the price of the repair.
