Wing mirrors are extremely important to a car, and without them it’s not really safe to drive. Tight streets are a nightmare for wing mirrors, and one day you may walk up to your car to find that it is severely damaged, perhaps from another driver scraping it as they pass.
It can be a lot easier to fix this type of problem yourself, and there are plenty of mirror units, backing plates and mirror glass that you can buy online or at your local scrap dealers, and instead of replacing the whole thing, which can be quite costly, you can simply buy the part you need.
Sometimes you may need multiple parts and then of course it will be better to decide on replacing the entire unit, but the majority of the time it is just one part that’s broken, and it can be extremely easy to fix it yourself.
