Every tyre has its own code on the side, and it essentially tells you what you’re looking for when you need a new set.
The first part of the code will be a umber before a forward slash. This is the width of your tyre in millimeters. Next (after the forward slash) is the profile, which is the profile height of the tyre sidewall. Following this on the code comes the diameter of the wheels inner rim, and example could be R16.
Then you have the load index and the maximum speed. Without the right tyre your car’s performance could be damages, and you should never fit tyres that are sizes to big or too small, even if they are cheaper.
Never get confused with a model number o a tyre, and this will tend to be smaller. Here’s an example of a tyre code: 205/55/R16 91V. If you see a code on your tyre that follows this pattern then you can be sure it’s your tyre code. Hope this post helped.
