Many people are becoming a lot more cost savvy when it comes to their cars. Most people used to take their car in to garage and let them diagnose and fix it, but with the cost of car repairs rising, people are often looking for ways in which they can save money and one of these is to buy the parts yourself.

Often, you can find a mobile mechanic or even a garage that will be willing to fit parts you have acquired yourself. They may say that they will not cover the warranty on the part only on their labour though.

IF you are trying to source your own parts then you need to try and make sure that you get the right one. If not, you may not be able to return it or can return it but at your own cost. Many car parts websites now allow you to put the registration of your vehicle in and it will show you the parts that fit. They may also say that there are a number of different fitments available and that you need to check it is the correct one before ordering. This may only be small differences but can mean the part simply will not physically fit.
