Buying a new car can be very exciting and you have the flexibility to add and remove equipment and chose the colour, trim level and transmission etc. When you are building you car, the sales person will take you through the different models available. They will first decide with you what trim level, engine size and transmission you want – This will then mean they have a base model to work with. They should explain to you what the standard extras are on that specific car e.g. CD player, Blue Tooth or Sat Nav. You then have a list of other extras that you can add on.

The important thing to remember is to not get carried away as you may find that all of a sudden you have added an extra two thousand pounds on to the purchase price. Some extras can be added in at a later date or even purchased from a third party such as car mats and dog guards, so do not feel pressurised in to having to have them there and then. You could also have a day or two to think about it and research the prices of the extras elsewhere. Sales people often work on commission so the more you buy the more money they make, but you need to stay strong and make sure that you are entirely happy with everything you are buying.
